Here is another one of those super fun “What is it?” posts. Well, at least I really enjoy them! Just so you are aware, I did play with the colors and contrast on this one. Hopefully by doing so I have made it into a slightly more challenging pictures, but at the same time it should hopefully bring more fun to everyone. Good luck!

Little nose

For some reason I think this photo is pretty self explanatory. Just in case you can’t guess, this is the nose of one of my cats, Oliver. What a cute little nose he has!

Blossoms

Has anyone else ever noticed that spring colors are simply unreal? I love looking out my living room window and being able to see these gorgeous blossoms (granted I do have to look down the street, but it’s still from my window!). They just pop against the blue of sky or the green of the grass and bushes behind them and looking at them just makes me happy!

Innocence

I took this shot at last Summer’s Pride Parade. There was just something so sweet and innocent about these two little boys waiting to see all the drag queens and floats set to come down the road. I have no idea if they knew why there was a parade, but they were so excited about it.

Crocus

One of my favorite flowers has always been the humble crocus, and for some unknown reason I’ve always had a soft spot for the violet ones. This is one of those little quirks of mine I find odd, as typically I am averse to things within the pink and purple spectrums. This particular crocus was one of many I was able to smile at on Easter Sunday and I walked to and from a friend’s house to maintain their yard. That bright yellow stamen there, do you see it? To me that is the perfect representation of the unbelievably sunny and warm Easter weekend Halifax experienced his year. I think this might just become one of my happy things

The first of many “what is it?” photos. Now that I have a macro lens and a DSLR I’m having a little too much fun taking close up and having things come out looking very different. Take a guess, let me know what you think this is!

The Ovens

Last week I took my favorite nine-year old M, my roommates daughter, on a day trip to the Oven’s Natural Park. For about two hours we explored the caves and mini-hike, as well as the beach, petting zoo (really crappy I might add) and pool. If my camera had not quit in the middle of our trip, I am sure I would be posting photos highlighting this amazing place for a long time yet. As it is, you might get lucky and I’ll post another one or two.

In this photo we’re looking in on a couple of the cave off to the side of the largest one you could walk into. I think if the lovely family that was down at the same time would have left us alone, M and I could have spent the WHOLE day enjoying the sight and sounds coming from within.

Sail’s Away

Since we haven’t been having a very nice summer, and hurricane number two appears to be headed our way – Bill hit us this weekend past, and Danny appears to be aiming for us as well – I thought it would be nice to post a summery photo for my first posting back. In this photo we are looking up at the masts and sails of one of the many tall ships that came to play in Halifax this Summer. On this particular day was one of the very few days of summer we had prior to some un-characteristically hot weather last week. Here’s to hoping we have a nice fall, so I can pile on the warm memory photos to us all through those long, cold winter months.
